Danielle K. Little graduated from University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Ecology (emphasis in Criminology, Law and Society) in 1992. Ms. Little received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law in 1995. Ms. Little is admitted to practice law in New York (since 1996) in both state and federal courts, including the Eastern and Southern Districts. Ms. Little is also admitted to practice law in California (since 2005) in both the state and federal courts, including the Central and Northern Districts.
Ms. Little began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York for the Kings County District Attorney. There, Ms. Little served in the Appeals Bureau, handling state post-conviction appeals and motions, writs of error coram nobis, federal writs of habeas corpus and second-chaired homicide trials. Ms. Little then went to private practice and has gained significant and diverse experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of: state and federal class actions, collective actions, civil rights, First Amendment, discrimination (race, disability, sexual orientation, union membership and other protected categories), police misconduct and brutality, appellate and writ practice, personal injury, labor and employment, public entity and municipal law, defense-side asbestos matters and products liability, premises liability, union rights, government employee rights and consumer law matters.
Besides her family, Ms. Little's other passion is writing and in 2004, she graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Creative Non-Fiction. Some of her work has appeared in Diversity & the Bar magazine, the New York Law Journal, QBR: The Black Book Review, Oxford Magazine, Potpourri: A Journal of Literature and Art, Touchstone , and in the essay collection, Sometimes Rhythm, Sometimes Blues.
