A special note about criminal background checks
California requires a criminal background check to be completed as part of the foster care licensing process. Individual counties are responsible for completing the background check on each applicant. Each prospective foster care parent or any other adult who will interact with the child must be determined to have a sufficiently clean criminal record to warrant receiving a license. If you are considering applying for foster care certification for yourself, or your home, your criminal record must be clear of felony charges for a specified period of time. Check with your county certification license to determine what the standards are. If you have been denied a license, or feel you may be denied certification because of your criminal record, there may be some remedies. Contact the California foster parent licensing attorneys at The Law Offices of Vincent W. Davis & Associates to schedule an opportunity to talk with us about your license application.
We are Beverly Hills certification lawyers with a reputation for our aggressive representation of foster parents' rights. Since 1990, we have been helping foster parents and foster home operators keep their licenses valid, and their reputations intact.
