Immigration Court Temporary Shutdown in Tucson
Tucson, Arizona, Oct. 11, 2013 – it was reported that by the actions of activists, a shutdown in the Immigration Court Systems occurred where buses with dozens of illegal prisoners were being held and transported for their actions against the States. The activists further attempted to prove their point at the unjust actions by tethering themselves to the bus wheels. Claiming the operation (under which illegal immigrants were to be jailed, sentenced, and eventually deported) to be unjust and cruel to those apprehended, to its family members, and to its freedom. With those numbering around 70 captured in buses showing their shackled wrists as proof of the unjust system, several other activists linked arms and blockaded the Court so as to prevent any immigrants from being deported. That day, it was effective, and the activists won one more day against one more family being deported unfairly. Their top priority is the morality of the situation.
Constitutionally, this is an accurate description of what is being done under Presidential Administration towards the highly controversial debate of illegal immigrants, with nearly two million families being torn apart and thrust into the justice system. Despite the worry of our top political parties in this sensitive battle, we cannot forget that this also could split apart the families that simply want a better life. The Statue of Liberty shines her torch in symbolism towards those immigrants who traveled in by boat, her gentle look inviting their tired, their poor, their huddled masses yearning to breathe free. Should anyone have their families torn apart, when all they want is to earn a better life?
