Appeal a Juvenile Dependency Case if Social Services Removed Your Kids — CA Lawyer Vincent W. Davis
Listen as California attorney Vincent W. Davis discusses how to appeal your juvenile dependency case in the event social services has removed your children from their home.
An appeal is an action taken against the officer of the court who made the decision in your case and is reviewed by another party to ensure legality.
Your attorney begins the appeal process by filing a brief. That’s a document that talks briefly about your case and why the previous decision was not right. The attorney for the other side will file one as well. Both parties will then file replies to the briefs, stating why the other attorney is incorrect. Finally, all of these documents (along with the testimony and evidence from your entire case) is given over to a panel of judges to review your case and come to a decision about whether to rule in your favor.
